Biography
Went to art school in Bromley, south-east London, from 1960-64 (NDD in Painting), then did two year’s post-graduate study at London University’s Slade School, leaving in 1967 with the Slade Diploma in Fine Art and a commendation for drawing and printmaking.
In 1967 he took part in ‘Young Contemporaries at The Tate’ and was included in the subsequent Art’s Council Travelling Exhibition. From 1968 until ’87 earned his living teaching part-time at various London art schools (Central, Middlesex Polytechnic and others). During this period he exhibited in group shows in London, the provinces and abroad, and continued painting and drawing until giving up teaching in ’87 to work full-time in his studio.
Moved home and studio in 1989 to current location in south-west France. Since then, has exhibited in group shows in Paris, Bourges, Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles, and more locally (Cahors, St Cirq Lapopie, Brive, Cajarc, Agen, Figeac, Montauban) and has been awarded several prizes.
A member of the Forum Lotois d’Art Contemporain; has shown in their exhibitions in Holland (1997) and China (2003).
Works have been bought by AT&T, Chicago, Herefordshire Education Committee, and are in private collections in England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Australia, America, Canada, Bahrain.
